Job Overview
The Mine Safety Compliance Officer will oversee safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and risk management across mining operations in Suez. This role is critical to ensuring a safe working environment, minimizing operational risks, and maintaining Newmont Egypt’s reputation as an industry leader in mining safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of mining sites to ensure compliance with national and international regulations.
- Develop and implement safety training programs for mining personnel.
- Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain licensing and compliance certifications.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to senior management.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and safety drills for mine personnel.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in mining safety standards (ISO 45001, MSHA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and hazard mitigation techniques.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for training and team coordination.
- Proficiency in safety software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work in remote mining environments with flexible hours.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
- Professional certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, CMIOSH) is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years in mining safety compliance roles.
- Experience in gold or mineral mining operations preferred.
Salary
4000 – 6000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
