Job Overview
The Supply Chain Risk Manager will lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks that could impact Maersk Egypt’s supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering operational, financial, regulatory, and geopolitical factors affecting the supply chain.
- Develop and maintain a risk register, ensuring timely updates and clear ownership of mitigation actions.
- Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, including contingency planning, insurance solutions, and alternative routing.
- Collaborate with the Data Analytics team to leverage predictive modeling and AI tools for early risk detection.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and produce regular risk dashboards for senior leadership.
- Lead crisis response drills and coordinate with emergency services and customs authorities during disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and Maersk’s internal policies.
- Provide training and awareness programs for staff on risk awareness and mitigation techniques.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior executives and external partners.
- Proficiency in risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO, or similar.
- Hands‑on experience with supply chain management software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle SCM) and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of Egyptian import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international trade agreements.
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or professional certifications in risk management (e.g., CRM, FRM) will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Applicants should possess 5‑7 years of progressive experience in supply chain risk analysis, logistics operations, or related fields, preferably within a multinational environment. Demonstrated experience in handling large‑scale, cross‑border logistics projects is essential.
