Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the Sohag data center, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of all infrastructure components. This role reports directly to the Regional Data Center Director and collaborates with engineering, security, and facilities teams to maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and exceed operational excellence standards. The manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of technicians, managing capacity planning, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that align with Google’s sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of servers, networking, power, and cooling systems to ensure 99.99% uptime.
  • Lead a team of 20+ data center technicians, providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development.
  • Develop and execute capacity planning strategies to accommodate growth in Google Cloud services.
  • Implement and monitor security protocols, including physical access controls, CCTV, and incident response procedures.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and manage vendor relationships for hardware and facility services.
  • Analyze operational metrics, generate reports, and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive energy‑efficiency projects, targeting reductions in PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) in line with Google’s sustainability commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage emergency response drills and real‑time incident handling to minimize service disruption.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, UPS, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Stackdriver, Nagios, or Splunk.
  • Excellent leadership and team‑building abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex operational data.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Project management experience, preferably with ITIL or PMP certification.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices for physical and logical security.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in data center management, cloud platforms, or facilities engineering are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience managing large‑scale data center operations, preferably within a hyperscale environment. Prior experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing vendor contracts is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, stock options, and comprehensive benefits.
