The Cultural Heritage Preservation Specialist will lead efforts to document, conserve, and promote Egypt’s archaeological and cultural heritage. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement preservation strategies for archaeological sites and cultural landmarks in Luxor.
  • Conduct site assessments, risk analyses, and conservation planning for heritage assets.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international experts on preservation projects.
  • Design educational programs to raise awareness about cultural heritage protection.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of heritage sites, ensuring compliance with UNESCO standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in cultural heritage conservation, with a focus on archaeological sites.
  • Proficiency in heritage documentation tools (GIS, 3D modeling, photogrammetry).
  • Strong project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Knowledge of international heritage preservation frameworks (e.g., World Heritage Convention).
  • Ability to work in remote or challenging field conditions.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in heritage conservation (e.g., ICCROM) are advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cultural heritage preservation, preferably in Egypt or the Middle East.
  • Project leadership experience in heritage site restoration or conservation.

Salary

120,000 – 180,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience.
