Job Overview

The Telecom Network Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and expanding Vodafone Egypt’s radio access network (RAN) across the Mansoura region and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed network planning strategies for 4G LTE and 5G deployments, including site selection, capacity forecasting, and frequency allocation.
• Perform radio frequency (RF) simulations and drive‑test analyses to validate network designs and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with civil engineering and construction teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective rollout of new sites.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as coverage, throughput, and call drop rates, and implement corrective actions to meet service level agreements.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Stay abreast of emerging telecom standards, spectrum policies, and industry best practices to incorporate innovative solutions.
• Support the integration of new technologies, including Massive MIMO, network slicing, and edge computing, into the existing infrastructure.
• Participate in vendor negotiations and evaluate equipment proposals to ensure alignment with network design goals.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LTE and 5G NR architecture, RF planning tools (e.g., Atoll, Planet), and network optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in data analysis, GIS mapping, and statistical modeling for capacity planning.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven mindset.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and stakeholder reporting.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Egyptian telecom regulations and spectrum licensing processes.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Radio Planner (CRP) or a master’s degree in a relevant field are considered a strong advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in telecom network planning, preferably within a mobile operator environment. Demonstrated experience with 4G LTE and 5G network deployments in Egypt or comparable markets is essential.

Salary
