Job Overview

The Product Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all consumer goods produced at the Ismailia facility meet Unilever’s rigorous quality standards and comply with local and international regulations. This position plays a pivotal role in driving product integrity, reducing waste, and enhancing customer trust. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Production, R&D, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs, to implement robust quality systems, conduct risk assessments, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols for all product lines manufactured at the Ismailia plant.
  • Conduct regular product inspections, laboratory testing, and process audits to verify compliance with Unilever standards and Egyptian regulatory requirements.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations for non‑conformances, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and track effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to design and validate new product formulations and manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics, generate reports, and present findings to senior management.
  • Support internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, HACCP, and local food safety inspections.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), ISO standards, and HACCP principles.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and data‑driven decision making.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for consumer goods in Egypt and the Middle East.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or a related scientific discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the consumer goods or food & beverage sector. Experience with multinational corporations and exposure to global quality standards will be considered an advantage.

Salary
