Job Overview
This position is part of a critical initiative to evaluate the environmental consequences of large-scale development projects in Aswan. The Environmental Impact Assessor will conduct field studies, analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports to guide decision-making for sustainable resource management. The role requires collaboration with engineers, policymakers, and local stakeholders to ensure compliance with national and international environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys and data collection for environmental impact assessments (EIAs)
- Analyze ecological, social, and economic impacts of proposed projects
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for government agencies and project stakeholders
- Develop mitigation strategies to minimize environmental risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented mitigation measures
Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS and environmental modeling software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in preparing EIAs for infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Egyptian environmental laws and international sustainability frameworks
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment
- Proven track record in project management and stakeholder engagement
Salary
120,000 – 150,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience.
