Job Overview:As an Environmental Conservation Specialist with The Nature Conservancy, you will play a critical role in implementing our conservation programs in Egypt. You will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective conservation strategies. Your expertise in environmental conservation will help us protect and restore critical ecosystems, promote sustainable land-use practices, and support the development of environmentally-friendly policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement conservation plans and strategies in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Conduct field assessments and monitoring to identify areas of high conservation value and develop recommendations for protection and restoration
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts and support policy development
- Develop and implement education and outreach programs to raise awareness about the importance of conservation and promote sustainable land-use practices
- Collaborate with other conservation organizations and government agencies to leverage resources and expertise
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a focus on ecosystem management and restoration
- Strong understanding of environmental policies and regulations in Egypt
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
