Job Overview

The Compliance Risk Analyst will play a pivotal role in strengthening HSBC Egypt’s risk management architecture. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the analyst will assess, monitor, and mitigate compliance risks associated with banking operations, ensuring alignment with local regulations, international standards, and internal policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of new and existing banking products, services, and processes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in Egypt and globally, translating them into actionable compliance frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and present findings to senior management and the Board’s Risk Committee.
  • Collaborate with the Legal and Audit teams to investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend remediation measures.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, ensuring accurate documentation of risk owners, mitigation plans, and status updates.
  • Support the design and delivery of compliance training programs for staff across all business lines.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing required evidence and explanations related to compliance risk.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify emerging risk trends and propose proactive controls.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of Egyptian banking regulations, AML/CFT standards, and international compliance frameworks such as Basel III and FATF.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and risk‑based monitoring tools.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex risk concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with risk management software (e.g., SAS, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Risk Analyst (CRA), or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Candidates should possess 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in compliance, risk analysis, internal audit, or regulatory affairs within the banking or financial services sector. Salary

The annual compensation package ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 SSP, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise.
