Job Overview
The Blockchain Compliance Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Citi Bank Egypt’s blockchain initiatives comply with local and international regulations. This position involves monitoring regulatory developments, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to embed compliance controls into blockchain projects. The analyst will also serve as a liaison with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders, providing expertise on anti‑money laundering (AML), counter‑terrorist financing (CTF), and data privacy requirements specific to distributed ledger technologies. This role is essential for safeguarding the bank’s reputation and supporting its growth in the digital finance space.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret Egyptian and international regulations related to blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and digital assets.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance risk assessments for new and existing blockchain projects.
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls tailored to distributed ledger technologies.
- Collaborate with the Legal, Risk, and Technology teams to integrate compliance requirements into system designs and operational processes.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures in a timely manner.
- Perform AML/CTF screening and transaction monitoring for blockchain‑based transactions.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on compliance best practices for blockchain initiatives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of compliance frameworks and audit trails.
- Engage with external regulators and auditors during examinations and audits.
- Support the development of a robust governance model for blockchain usage within the bank.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and digital asset ecosystems.
- In‑depth understanding of AML, CTF, KYC, and data privacy regulations in Egypt and globally.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex regulatory scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in compliance management tools and risk assessment software.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), or certifications in blockchain technology are highly desirable.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs within the financial services sector. Direct experience with blockchain or digital asset compliance is a distinct advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 120,000 to 180,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and benefits aligned with Citi Bank Egypt’s standards.
