Job Overview
The Satellite Communications Systems Engineer will design, develop, and optimize satellite communication networks that enable reliable, high‑throughput connectivity for a variety of applications, including broadband internet, maritime communication, and emergency services. Working closely with cross‑functional teams—such as RF engineers, software developers, and project managers—the successful candidate will lead the technical implementation of satellite payloads, ground station integration, and end‑to‑end system testing. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Huawei’s satellite solutions meet stringent performance, security, and regulatory standards, while delivering exceptional value to customers across the Middle East and Africa. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop satellite communication architectures, including link budget analysis, modulation schemes, and antenna configurations.
- Lead integration and testing of satellite payloads and ground station equipment, ensuring compliance with international standards.
- Collaborate with RF, software, and network teams to optimize end‑to‑end system performance and reliability.
- Perform feasibility studies and technical assessments for new satellite services and market opportunities.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, system specifications, and test reports.
- Provide technical support during deployment, commissioning, and post‑deployment phases.
- Stay current with emerging satellite technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of satellite communication principles, RF engineering, and network protocols.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as STK, MATLAB, or ANSYS HFSS.
- Experience with ground station hardware, antenna systems, and RF testing equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and client interaction.
- Project management experience with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in satellite communications or RF engineering are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in satellite communications system design, integration, or testing. Prior experience with 5G backhaul, Ka‑band, or LEO satellite constellations is strongly preferred. Experience working in a multinational environment or on large‑scale infrastructure projects will be viewed favorably.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 180,000 to 250,000 SSP per year, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a comprehensive retirement plan.
