Job Overview

We are seeking a highly diligent Pharmacovigilance Specialist to join our Patient Safety department in Cairo. In this role, you will play a critical part in monitoring, assessing, and reporting the safety profiles of our pharmaceutical products. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, evaluate, and process adverse event reports from clinical trials and spontaneous sources in compliance with guidelines.
  • Perform initial triage, data entry, and narrative writing for individual case safety reports (ICSRs) within the global safety database.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to obtain complete follow-up information regarding reported adverse events.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of periodic safety update reports (PSURs) to the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).
  • Monitor local scientific literature and regulatory databases for safety signals and relevant pharmacovigilance updates.
  • Support internal and external pharmacovigilance audits and inspections, ensuring all documentation is inspection-ready.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of local Egyptian pharmacovigilance regulations and international guidelines (GVP, ICH).
  • Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to interpret complex medical data accurately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with medical professionals and regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in using global safety databases (such as Argus or ArisG) and standard office software.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage tight regulatory deadlines.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory.

Education

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or Medicine from an accredited institution.

Experience

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct experience in pharmacovigilance or drug safety within a multinational pharmaceutical company is required.
