Job Overview
The Industrial Automation Solutions Engineer will design, develop, and implement advanced automation systems for GE Renewable Energy’s manufacturing facilities in Ismailia. Key Responsibilities
- Design and program PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions for renewable energy equipment.
- Integrate IoT sensors and edge computing devices to enable real‑time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Develop detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and functional specifications.
- Conduct system commissioning, validation, and performance testing on the shop floor.
- Identify and troubleshoot automation issues, providing rapid resolution to minimize downtime.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 methodologies.
- Support training of operators and maintenance personnel on new automation technologies.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, IEC, and local regulatory requirements.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider) and SCADA platforms.
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet).
- Experience with HMI design and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of IoT frameworks, data analytics, and cloud integration.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Project management experience, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical teams.
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Siemens S7 programming credentials are advantageous.
Experience

Salary
