Job Overview

The Eco‑Tourism Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability programs across Marriott’s El Gouna resort. The role involves collaborating with operations, marketing, and local stakeholders to integrate eco‑friendly practices into daily operations, guest activities, and community outreach. The analyst will also track performance metrics, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with international sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation specific to resort operations.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for new guest activities, ensuring alignment with local regulations and Marriott’s sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with the Food & Beverage team to source locally produced, organic ingredients and reduce single‑use plastics.
• Develop educational programs and interactive workshops for guests, staff, and the local community to promote eco‑tourism awareness.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as carbon emissions, water usage, and waste diversion rates, producing monthly and annual reports.
• Partner with local NGOs and government agencies to support conservation projects and community development initiatives.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining certifications such as EarthCheck, LEED, and Marriott’s “Serve 360” sustainability framework.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with experience in data collection, reporting, and KPI tracking.
• Excellent communication skills to convey sustainability concepts to diverse audiences.
• Project management expertise, including budgeting, timeline development, and stakeholder coordination.
• Proficiency in sustainability software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Egyptian environmental regulations and international tourism sustainability standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams and adapt to a dynamic resort environment.

Education

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Tourism Management, Sustainable Development, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as LEED Green Associate or EarthCheck Practitioner are advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of professional experience in sustainability, environmental management, or eco‑tourism within the hospitality sector. Prior experience working in resort or destination management environments is highly valued.

Salary

The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from SSP 180,000 to SSP 240,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and sustainability incentive programs are also part of the compensation package.
