Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forestry Data Scientist to join our team in Beni Suef, Egypt. As a key member of our Forestry and Conservation department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to support our conservation efforts.
As a Digital Forestry Data Scientist, you will work closely with our team of foresters, conservation biologists, and data analysts to design and implement data collection and analysis protocols. You will also collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to ensure that our work is aligned with national and international conservation priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data collection and analysis protocols to support forestry and conservation efforts
- Develop and maintain databases and data management systems to support data collection and analysis
- Collaborate with local stakeholders, government agencies, and international partners to ensure that our work is aligned with national and international conservation priorities
- Develop and implement data-driven solutions to support conservation efforts, including spatial analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling
- Communicate complex data and analysis results to non-technical stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and international partners
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5-7 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a related field
- Strong programming skills in languages such as R, Python, or SQL
- Experience with spatial analysis and geographic information systems (GIS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
