Job Overview
The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of the Ras Gharib facility, overseeing infrastructure reliability, capacity planning, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for ensuring that all systems—including power, cooling, networking, and security—operate within defined service level agreements (SLAs) and meet AWS’s rigorous standards for performance and safety. The manager will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams to implement best practices, drive continuous improvement, and support the rapid scaling of services to meet growing customer demand.
Key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, incident response time, and energy efficiency will be monitored and reported to senior leadership. The role also involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing maintenance contracts, and ensuring that all operational activities align with AWS’s sustainability goals, including the use of renewable energy sources and efficient cooling technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and support staff to maintain optimal data center performance.
- Monitor and manage critical infrastructure components, including power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, chillers, and HVAC units.
- Develop and execute capacity planning strategies to accommodate growth while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Implement and enforce security protocols, access controls, and compliance standards in line with AWS policies.
- Coordinate incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem reporting for any operational disruptions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy consumption, and operational excellence.
- Manage vendor contracts, service level agreements, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and present regular operational reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and sustainability targets, including carbon reduction and waste management.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and professional development within the operations team.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking systems.

Education

Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience managing data center operations or large‑scale facilities.
