Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Engineer will lead the planning, design, and execution of solar and wind power projects throughout the Aswan region and beyond. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the engineer will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine installations, ensuring compliance with international standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and resource analysis to determine project viability.
• Prepare technical specifications, procurement documents, and tender packages for equipment and services.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to integrate system components and resolve design conflicts.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risk registers, providing regular status reports to senior management.
• Liaise with government agencies, utility companies, and local stakeholders to secure permits and grid connection agreements.
• Oversee construction activities, perform site inspections, and ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
• Lead commissioning and performance testing, delivering final handover documentation and operational training.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, especially solar PV and wind power systems.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Excellent project management capabilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to interpret and apply local regulations, grid codes, and environmental standards.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on innovative and sustainable solutions.
• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or renewable energy (NABCEP) are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must have 5‑7 years of hands‑on experience in the planning, design, or execution of renewable energy projects, preferably within the Middle East or North Africa region. Experience with large‑scale solar farms or wind farms, as well as familiarity with local permitting processes, will be considered a strong asset.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 150,000 to 250,000 SSP per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
