Job Overview
The Drone Operations Manager will lead the planning, execution, and analysis of drone‑based data collection initiatives that support precision agriculture projects throughout Egypt. Key Responsibilities
- Design and schedule drone flight missions to capture high‑resolution multispectral and thermal imagery across diverse crop types.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of licensed drone pilots, GIS specialists, and agronomists to ensure data quality and timely delivery.
- Maintain compliance with Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority regulations, including flight permits, safety protocols, and data privacy standards.
- Process raw drone data using industry‑standard software (e.g., Pix4D, DroneDeploy) and generate actionable maps for variable rate application, disease scouting, and yield prediction.
- Collaborate with research and development teams to integrate drone‑derived insights into Syngenta’s seed and crop protection recommendations.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drone operations, equipment maintenance, and emergency response.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior pilots and data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as mission success rate, data turnaround time, and farmer adoption metrics.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating fixed‑wing and rotary‑wing UAVs equipped with multispectral, RGB, and thermal sensors.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, and image processing workflows.
- Excellent project management abilities, with a track record of delivering complex field campaigns on schedule.
- Familiarity with Egyptian aviation regulations and experience obtaining flight authorizations.
- Effective communication skills to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for agronomists and farmers.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, or a closely related field is required. Advanced certifications in UAV operations (e.g., FAA Part 107 equivalent, ECAA UAV license) and GIS software are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have at least five years of hands‑on experience conducting drone surveys for agricultural applications, preferably within the Egyptian or broader MENA region. Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing large‑scale data projects, and delivering agronomic insights is essential.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of 18,000 – 25,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and profit‑sharing opportunities are also part of the compensation package.
